EBC
The EBC Trek serves as the pinnacle in trekking experiences and brings you to the top of the world where you encounter the land of giants. Mount Everest stands as an iconic symbol towering over the world and inspiring all who walk in its shadows. At 29,030ft Everest is an international landmark showcasing millions of years of the earth’s history. The trip begins and ends in Kathmandu where you will be welcomed by MCAT staff along with your trip representative. Once reaching the trailhead your trek will ascend from Lukla to the spectacular scenery of the Khumbu Ice Fall near your final destination of Everest Base Camp (EBC) at 17,598ft. The highest viewpoint of your trek will be from the top of Kala Patar (18,100 ft.). The EBC Trek is MCAT’s most physically challenging trek. We’re confident you’ll leave as inspired and as speechless as we are.

ABCThis is easily one of the most popular trekking destinations in the Himalayas. If you are looking for relatively easy accessibility and spectacular views of the Himalayas, the Annapurna Peaks (I, II, III, IV) are your best bet. Annapurna I is the tenth tallest mountain in the world. Your trekking will start and end in Pokhara, one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal. During the trek, you will fall in love with the majestic views of Phewa Lake. From ABC, you will be surrounded by 360 degrees of spectacular views of the Annapurnas, Homunculi, Annapurna South, Fang, and Machhapuchhare. You will understand why so many people keep coming back to the Himalayas, and specifically back to ABC. You and your party will be inspired and awed by its beauty and ruggedness. This is a challenging trail dotted with the abundant history and culture of the Nepali people. This is one of the most popular trips we offer. We’re confident that you will fall in love with the Annapurnas.

ACTThe Annapurna Circuit Trek combines the sharp ruggedness of the Himalayas with one of the most visually stunning and beautiful treks the world has to offer. Your trek begins in the sleepy roadside town of Besisahar and ends in high desert mountain village of Jomsom. The Annapurna Circuit takes you to a height of 17,764ft., where you are surrounded by the colossal Annapurna Range. Annapurna meaning “Goddess of Harvest” is a place where throughout the history of Nepal, people go to search and nourish their bodies and souls. There are four Annapurna Peaks. Annapurna I is the tenth highest mountain in the world, with an altitude of 26,545ft. These rugged, giant mountains will move you in strange ways, as you trek through paths bearing landmarks of the history of Buddhism and Hinduism. If you are looking for physically challenging and spiritual journey to refresh and recharge your life, this is the trip. This is the most visually stunning trip that MCAT offers.

LangtangSituated just south of Nepal’s northern border with Tibet the Langtang valley trek offers dramatic scenery set in the dynamic and rich culture of Tibetan Buddhism. Great snow-capped peaks, sacred frozen lakes and Yak cheese factories make the Langtang valley trek one of the Himalayas most diverse and scenic experiences. Located north of Kathmandu on a newly developed road, access to the trailhead can be reached in as little as 6 hours making this trek more accessible than many of the other treks MCAT offers. Steep climbs into the clouds make for some intense days but the views once above the clouds are unparalleled and worth every steep stone step. A highly rewarding trek for its intense views and diversity make this an MCAT favorite.

ManasluWe designed this trip especially for busy individuals who want to experience it all, but do not have enough vacation time. In just short 12 days, you will experience the best of the Himalayas, including an exhilarating helicopter ride to the top – truly a once in a life time experience. At 27,999ft Mount Manaslu is the world’s eighth highest mountain and home to the people of Nubri. Situated just south of the Tibetan border Manaslu towers over the district of Gorkha and can be clearly seen from Kathmandu. The Manaslu Circuit is one of Nepal’s newest options only opening to foreigners a few years ago. This makes the Manaslu trek one of the most pristine and unspoiled areas affording a rare glimpse into ways of life that have stood still for centuries. Development is coming fast to the people living in the shadows of Manaslu and it won’t be long before this virgin territory is fully developed and explored. Get in quick and experience life in the mountains as rarely seen today in Nepal.

ECOMCAT is highly specialized in customizing unique trekking experiences for groups of six or more.  We are experienced in developing Eco/Humanitarian orientated treks for those seeking to invest in the lives of children in the Himalayas. It’s how MCAT started and it continues to fuel our passion for the mountains and its people.
